It is very important for all taxpayers to remember the due date of filing Income Tax Returns. For different taxpayers, the due date varies according to their status under the Income Tax Act. Here’s the Income Tax Return Last Date for AY 2021-22 for different categories of taxpayers.

⚫ For non-audited assessee, the original due date is 31st July 2021.

⚫ For the audited assessee, the original due date is 31st October 2021.

First Extension- On 20th May 2021 vide circular no. 9/2021, the government has extended the due date of ITR for the non-audited assessee to 30th September 2021 and for the audited assessee to 30th November 2021.

Second Extension- On 9th September 2021 vide circular no. 17/2021, the government has extended the last date of ITR for the non-audited assessee to 31st December 2021 and for the audited assessee to 15th February 2021.

  1. How about the earliest date for filing the return?

    Today, the 7th April 2021 , the AY 2021-22 was not available in the drop down list for selection on IT’s online filing site !!!
