Last 10 years of Union Budget with its Dates and Finance Ministers

The government presents the budget on the first day of February so that it could be materialized before the beginning of the financial year in April. Until 2016 it was presented on the last working day of February by the Finance Minister in Parliament. Here are the last 10 years union budget dates and Finance Minister who presented the budget.

First Budget of Independent of India- The first union budget of Independent India was presented by the R.K. Shanmukham Chetty on 26 November 1947. Total revenue stood at Rs. 171.15 crore and the fiscal deficit was Rs. 24.59 Crore. The total expenditure was estimated at Rs. 197.29 crore with defense expenditure at Rs. 92.74 Crore.

Former Finance Minister Morarji Desai presented the budget 10 times, the most by any.
